Quick Answer
AuraaQem Liquid Dishwash is diluted 1:1 with water, while Dishwash Gel is diluted 1:5. This means one litre of gel makes about 6 litres of washing solution, compared to about 2 litres from liquid dishwash, so the gel usually gives a lower cost per wash.
What dilution means
Dilution is the ratio of product to water. A 1:1 dilution means one part product and one part water. A 1:5 dilution means one part product and five parts water. The higher the second number, the more concentrated the product, and the further it goes.
Liquid Dishwash at 1:1
AuraaQem Liquid Dishwash is diluted 1:1 with water. It is easy to prepare, spreads well on the scrubber and removes oil and grease from everyday utensils. Many homes prefer it because the dilution is simple to remember.
Dishwash Gel at 1:5
AuraaQem Dishwash Gel is concentrated and diluted 1:5 with water. A small quantity of gel makes a large quantity of washing solution, which is why restaurants, caterers and hostel kitchens often choose it to bring down their cost per wash.
How to prepare the solution correctly
Use a separate bottle or bowl for the diluted solution. Add water first and then the product to reduce excess foam. Mix gently, dip the scrubber, wash the utensils and rinse well with clean water.
How much washing solution you get
The table shows the approximate solution you can make from 1 litre of each product.
| Product | Dilution | Solution from 1 litre |
|---|---|---|
| Liquid Dishwash | 1:1 | Approx 2 litres |
| Dishwash Gel | 1:5 | Approx 6 litres |
Tips to reduce dishwash wastage
- Always dilute as recommended instead of pouring product directly on the scrubber.
- Scrape leftover food into the bin before washing utensils.
- Soak very oily vessels in warm water before scrubbing.
- Use a 5 Litre pack in commercial kitchens to reduce packaging cost.
- Store the diluted solution in a labelled bottle near the sink.
